JW Group Partners with China’s Jinpeng to Launch Electric Bikes in Pakistan

LAHORE – JW Group has announced a landmark partnership with China’s Jinpeng Group, the world’s largest electric tricycle maker. The move is set to transform Pakistan’s two- and three-wheeler sector with the introduction of new production lines for both electric and gasoline models.

Production has already begun at JW’s Lahore facility, marking a key milestone for the local auto industry. The initiative supports Pakistan’s push for stronger domestic manufacturing and gradual adoption of clean mobility.

Expanding Local Automotive Ventures

JW Group already runs a joint venture with China’s SAIC Motor International, assembling MG vehicles in Pakistan. The new tie-up with Jinpeng adds further depth to its automotive portfolio.

Key highlights of the collaboration include:

CEO JW Corporation, Javed Afridi, said the partnership blends local capacity with Jinpeng’s technology, creating opportunities for Pakistan and beyond. He emphasized that it could make the country a hub for South Asian EV exports.

Jinpeng CEO Zakir Ali noted Pakistan’s market potential, stating that the plan includes developing a comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem. With over 400 patents, Jinpeng aims to balance current fuel needs while steering toward electrification.
