Work has started on Pehalwan Goth Road in Karachi’s District East under a Rs1.5 billion infrastructure project aimed at improving road connectivity and drainage in the area.
Utility Work Comes First
Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab announced the development on X, saying authorities will first lay new utility lines before starting construction of the dualised road. The initial phase is meant to improve the disposal of sewerage and rainwater.

He said the road project covers about 5 kilometres and is designed to address long-standing drainage issues in the locality, particularly water accumulation during the monsoon season.

Project Scope and Cost
According to the mayor, the scheme is estimated at around Rs1.5 billion. Once completed, it is expected to improve traffic flow and mobility for residents in the surrounding neighbourhoods.
