Keep your car cool this summer
Just as summer is at its peak, not only it is taking a toll on the humans but is also affecting and making your car miserable. Your car will start to deteriorate if it’s kept under the sun for too long in the summers. This will make your car both ugly and dangerous too for its parts will start to deteriorate. Let us take an example of the seatbelt, depending on the condition of your car the expiry date of your car’s seat belt is 5-10 years. And when the seat belts expire, they become dangerous, because they are made up of a plastic and rubber material and they won’t be flexible and strong once they expire. This is due to the process of degradation and also due to the effect of the high temperature. At high temperature, this deteriorating process would increase. And these deteriorated seatbelts from saving you from the crash when you apply the sudden brake while driving leading to pain, severe injury or even death. Therefore, it is necessary to keep your car cool and under shade especially in summers.
Here are the few tips to keep your car cool during summers.
The first and foremost thing is to prevent the car from the direct sunlight or the heat entering the car. When the heat is absorbed by the car, it radiated the heat back, raising the internal temperature of the car thus affecting the interior of the car. Hence, you must park the car under the shade. It may not completely help in the entry of heat but it’ll slow down the process.
Use Insulated Foil Car Sunshade:
In order to protect the front and the rear of the car use of the insulated foil car sunshade in not only the best but also the cheapest method. It not only prevents the entry of heat in the car but also helps in avoiding the heat build up the car.
Avoid using leather or vinyl seats:
Avoid using the leather or vinyl car seat covers because they get extremely hot during the summers, lighter colors in these materials is no exception. Therefore it’s better to go for lighter colored cloth instead of these colors. They may look bad but it’s better to use them rather than making yourself with the heat.
Use Window tinting or curtains:
You can also use the curtains and window tintings in order to avoid excessive heat. However, tinting the windows is illegal so using curtains is the best alternative. Avoid using black curtains for black color absorbs the heat and radiate it inside the car. Therefore, use good colored reflective curtains to avoid heat build-up. However, again using black curtains is still useful instead of not using any curtain at all.
Using Solar powered fan:
Solar powered fans are the best in keeping your car cool. Once they start working and utilizing the heat from the sun, they are the cheapest source. You can use one solar powered fan for the left window which allows the entry of cool air and one for the rear window which will remove the heat build up inside the car. Keeping the window slightly open also exhaust the heat build up inside the car but this step doesn’t necessarily have to work.
Heat insulation system:
Heat insulation is one of the expensive yet best method to avoid the heat build-up inside the car. It not only reduces the noise but also keeps your car cool. Even the air conditioner of your car work more properly when the car is insulated well. This will let the car remain cooler for a longer period of time and do not allow the warm air enters the car.
Some other tips include:
Use lighter color tones instead of darker ones:
While you are buying a car, first go for the color, it’s better to buy a car with lighter colors such as silver or white. Because light colors are good in reflecting the heat hence the light colors don’t take up the heat as quickly as the black or other dark colored cars. Same is the case for the interior of the car. Use lighter colors for the dashboard instead of using the darker tones such as black or brown instead use grey. It should be worthy to mention here that the interior of the car is more important than the exterior. Because unlike exterior the interior of a car is not made up of metal hence it takes a longer time for the interior of the car to dissipate heat that it has absorbed
