Kia Motors Pakistan Recalled Sportage over ‘Safety Hazards’
After Hyundai, Kia Lucky Motors has also issued a recall for its compact SUV, KIA Sportage’ over safety hazards. In a statement, the company has asked the Sportage owners to take their vehicles to nearby authorized dealerships of the company for an inspection.
The statement read that the KIA is committed to provide the best quality products and services to its customers. “We believe in eliminating potential hazards by taking prompt action for the continues safety,” KLM said.
It further said as part of Kia’s global campaign, Lucky Motors is carrying out a Special Safety Service Campaign. “It is related to the inspection, and if required, replacement of HECU fuse kit in Kia Sportage,” the statement mentioned., adding that a potential electrical issue of this component may result in safety hazards.
The car manufacturer has requested the owners of Kia Sportage to visit its 33 authorized dealerships across 19 cities, to avail this free service. It is pertinent to mention that 3-4 incidents of fire have happened in Sportage since last year.
A Bit of Background:
Last year back in March of 2020, virtually a brand new [1500 kilometers on odometer] KIA Sportage went on fire and made headlines. Obviously it started an extensive discussion all cross the country among car enthusiasts and general public. Huge flams of fire were seen in this case and extreme heat melted every other part of the engine compartment. The fire was so intense, it even opened seams of the bonnet.
The Sportage fire news spread on social media like always and after few days KIA Pakistan made an official statement via their Facebook page by releasing a 8 point report.
