Kia’s First Sports Sedan in Pakistan – Specs & Features

Today we’re back with the walkaround review of the Kia Stinger GT. The Stinger made its debut in 2017 and was Kia’s attempt to step into the sports sedan category. Unlike Kia’s fuel-efficient and environment-friendly approach, the Stinger aimed to attract an audience who wanted practicality and good performance.

Initially launched with several engine options ranging from a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder all the way up to a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6, the Stinger was too good on paper. Despite an underwhelming reception worldwide, Lucky Motor Corporation has decided to display the Stinger in Pakistan for customers to catch a glimpse of it.

Engine

This particular car is equipped with a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 producing close to 365 hp and 510 nm of torque. This engine is configured with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and power is delivered to the rear wheels. These impressive power figures enable the Kia Stinger to do 0 to 100 in just around 5 seconds.

Exterior

Kia calls the Stinger a “Liftback Sedan” the exterior design is very aggressive, with the signature tiger nose grill at the front, sleek LED headlamps, and several ducts for airflow, some of which are just for aesthetics. Sides feature 19-inch chrome alloys with massive Brembo brakes. Unlike most companies blacking out chrome points in their performance-centric cars, the Stinger gets a lot of chrome treatment. The rear end is also exciting, with large tail lamps and prominent quad exhausts.

Interior

Along with the sportiness, the interior also gives an essence of luxury and comfort. The dash is well laid out, with the center extended outwards, which features the floating infotainment system. Seats are kept low and stitched in plush napa leather, with side bolsters gripping the passengers very well.

Buttons and notches feel premium with an aluminum finish, and the panels are sturdy. Space-wise, there is plenty of room in the front to stretch out knees, and headroom is also good; what’s bad is the rear headroom which is a bit tight due to the swooping roof line. Overall, the interior is a nice place to enjoy Kia Stinger’s drive.

Features

This being the top-of-the-line variant, the Stinger comes with a lot of quirks and features. Starting with the seats, they are electrically operated with two-way memory and ventilation. It also gets paddle shifters, drive modes, an electronic parking brake, auto hold, cruise control, a 10-speaker 3D surround sound system, a sunroof, a heated steering wheel, auto levelling headlamps, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and much more. Safety features include ABS brakes which are Brembos, traction control, stability controls, blind spot monitor, parking sensors, and many other driver assistance features.

Price

As of now, the Stinger is only here for display, and no claims have been made regarding its launch. However, a rough estimate given by Kia’s representatives regarding this particular unit’s price is about PKR 2.85 crores.
