A lady ”Bio-hacks’ her arm into a Tesla key
A woman implanting a Tesla key into her arm indicates that carrying a big old keyring with a bunch of keys on it can suck for some people. Recently a software engineer tried next level of “bio-hacking” by implanting a chip inside her arm. Purpose of this experiment? To turn her arm into a Tesla car key.
A woman named Amie DD, who has a background in game simulation and programming posted a video of her bio-hacked arm. She claims to have taken out RFID chip from her Tesla model 3 valet card and have it installed in her arm. According to a report by TechCrunch, Amie DD used acetone to remove the chip and then implanted it into a biopolymer. She later, with the help of a body modification specialist, injected it in her arm through a hollow needle. The primary purpose of this bio-hack was to be enabled to start her Tesla with her arm without using a key. A video of this mind catching experiment has been uploaded covering this whole process from start to end on her blog. She often had to get in touch with Tesla at various steps during this whole bio-hacking process. She also revealed that she is part of Tesla’s bug bounty program.
“ I’m part of Tesla bug crowd bounty, and I’ve been looking through, to see what information I can get from the car, to see if writing data to my current RFID hand implant is a possibility,” she explained in her blog. However, she didn’t mention whether she was successful in making her arm into a Tesla key!
Surprisingly, this wasn’t the first bio-hack attempted by her. As she said, she has another implant on her left hand, which acts as an “access control” to unlock the door of her house. However, it remains to be seen whether this implant was a success or not. This news shouldn’t come as a surprise since Tesla is very popular among enthusiasts around the world. Owning a Tesla is now considered as a symbol of status, modernism, and environmentalism. So more and more people try to do things which involve a Tesla vehicle. Just a month back, a YouTuber named Simone converted her entry-level model 3 into a pickup truck just because she wanted to. The result got an overwhelming response and made her famous overnight. Let’s see what the future holds for us when it comes to Tesla fans like me.
