In a significant move to protect public servants from the extreme summer heat, the Lahore City Traffic Police has introduced AC cabins for its traffic wardens. This initiative is designed to offer relief to officers who are stationed at busy intersections, exposed to the harsh sun for long hours. Given that Lahore frequently experiences temperatures over 45°C during summer, this step is crucial for ensuring the health and safety of the traffic police.
Why This Initiative Is Crucial?
Lahore experiences extreme heat during the summer months which poses serious risks to traffic wardens working outdoors for long hours. The most common issues they face include heat exhaustion, dehydration, and fatigue, which can impair their ability to focus and perform their duties efficiently. This puts both the officers and the public at risk, especially when managing busy intersections.
Long-term exposure to such harsh conditions can lead to serious health problems like heatstroke and cardiovascular stress. By introducing air-conditioned cabins, the Lahore City Traffic Police is addressing these concerns and providing a solution that not only protects the health of the wardens but also enhances their performance and job satisfaction, ensuring they can carry out their duties safely and effectively.
Features of these AC Cabins?
The specially designed cabins offer several features to make the wardens’ work environment more comfortable and efficient:
- Full air-conditioning for climate control: The booths are equipped with air-conditioning to provide a cool environment, even during the hottest days.
- Transparent glass for visibility: The booths are made of transparent glass, allowing the wardens to monitor traffic without any obstructions.
- Comfortable interiors: The booths are equipped with fans, comfortable seating, and communication tools to ensure that the wardens can stay in touch with their colleagues and handle traffic-related duties effectively.
- Electricity backup: The booths come with electricity backup to ensure the cooling system continues to function even during power outages.
- Proper ventilation and sun protection: The cabins are well-ventilated to maintain air circulation, and the design ensures protection from direct sunlight.
These features make the booths not only a refuge from the heat but also a practical tool for maintaining effective traffic control.
If the glass would be transparent, then it wil cause a huge waste of energy using AC, instead it wil better use fan, and install store
Good initiative I think but…
I don’t know why I feel like “Paisa APKA mojain hamari” this kind of initiates should have taken by the department instead the government. They are earning their selves through chelans and fees.
Imagine a country in which a mediocre cannot afford an AC for their family due to high electric cost on which government is charging multiple taxes.
