Lahore —The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) has intensified its crackdown on one-wheeling, arresting another individual for performing dangerous stunts on a motorcycle.
This arrest is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to tackle the rise in reckless one-wheeling, which continues to jeopardize the safety of both riders and pedestrians.
Tragic incidents have brought the life-threatening nature of one-wheeling into sharp focus. As per reports, in September 2025, two individuals lost their lives in a one-wheeling accident on Canal Road, highlighting the severe consequences of this reckless behavior. In addition, authorities have registered multiple cases against individuals caught performing stunts and posting videos of their dangerous acts on social media.
Underage Riders Contributing to the Problem
A worrying trend contributing to the rise in one-wheeling incidents is the involvement of underage motorcyclists. Many young riders, often lacking proper training and experience, engage in dangerous stunts on busy streets. These actions not only put their own lives at risk but also endanger pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users.
Increased Enforcement and Surveillance
In response to these incidents, the CTPL has stepped up its efforts, including increased patrolling and surveillance in areas prone to one-wheeling. Authorities are focusing on apprehending violators and preventing further dangerous stunts.
Safety Measures for Motorcyclists
Motorcyclists are urged to take the following precautions to reduce the risk of accidents:
- Follow Traffic Laws: Always obey speed limits, road signs, and traffic signals.
- Avoid One-Wheeling: Refrain from performing stunts, particularly in crowded or busy areas.
- Wear Protective Gear: Helmets and protective pads can help reduce the severity of injuries.
- Be Considerate of Others: Stay vigilant and respect pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles on the road.
- Do Not Let Underage Riders Operate Motorcycles: Ensure that only individuals of legal age, with proper training, are riding motorcycles.
- Supervise Young Riders: Parents and guardians should monitor underage riders to prevent unsafe and reckless behavior.
Motorcyclists are reminded to act responsibly, avoid dangerous stunts, and prioritize safety for themselves and others on the road.
