The Government of Pakistan never disappoints. Good or bad, they always have a surprise in store for us. This time, it’s the massive fuel price hike. Petrol prices have been revised and increased by Rs. 5+

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the government has increased the petrol price by Rs. 5 per litre, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) price by Rs. 5.01, Kerosene Oil price by Rs. 5.42, and Light Diesel Oil price by Rs. 5.92.

Old Prices

As per the old petroleum prices in Pakistan, petrol was at Rs. 118.30 per litre, diesel, light diesel, and kerosene oil were at Rs. 115.03, Rs. 84.77, and Rs. 86.80, respectively.

New Prices

After the government increased the petrol prices, the new petrol price has become Rs. 123.30, and the new diesel price is Rs. 120.04. The new prices of light diesel and kerosene oil are Rs. 90.69 and Rs. 92.26, respectively. The new prices are now in effect.

New Petrol Prices

The government has been playing with the public for quite some time now. From June to August, we had four petrol price hikes in a row. First, the government increased the petrol price by Rs. 2.13 per litre on June 16, then by Rs. 2 per litre on June 30, then by Rs. 5.4 on July 15, and now by Rs. 1.71 on August 1.

Then, on August 16, the government kept the petrol price untouched, and later on September 1, reduced it by Rs. 1.50. Both were sharp moves to shush the public rants about increasing fuel prices.

Now, the government is back with the butchery, making the fuel prices higher than ever. We got played people, to say the least. The show is not over yet; get ready for more drama!

How did you take the massive price hike? Did you see it coming or were you as shocked as everybody else? Do tell us in the comments.
