MG has unveiled two new electric concept vehicles at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, offering an early look at how the brand plans to expand its EV range beyond conventional crossovers.
The MG GO! previews a compact electric hatchback expected to enter production in 2027, while the larger MG Cyber Concept explores the idea of a high-performance electric SUV positioned near the top of the company’s future lineup.
MG GO! Previews a New Compact EV
Designed at MG’s Advanced Design Center in London, the GO! is a small, sporty hatchback with clear references to the company’s older performance models.
Its shape draws inspiration from cars including the MGB GT, MG Metro Turbo, MG ZR, and the EX4 concept, but MG says the design is intended to be modern rather than a straightforward retro recreation.
The concept previews a fully electric B-segment hatchback scheduled for launch in 2027. MG has not announced technical details such as battery capacity, range, motor output, or dimensions.
The company’s stated aim is to combine practicality and relatively accessible pricing with a more distinctive driving character. That positioning suggests the production model could sit below the MG4 and compete with a growing group of compact electric hatchbacks.
MG Cyber Takes the SUV Route
At the opposite end of the range is the MG Cyber Concept, a large electric performance SUV intended to serve as a future flagship.
MG says the concept takes inspiration from the EX181 land-speed-record car and is designed to combine strong performance with the space, range and everyday usability expected from a large SUV.
No production date or powertrain figures have been released. The Cyber name, however, suggests that MG plans to extend the performance-focused identity established by the Cyberster electric roadster to larger, more commercially important body styles.
Could Either Model Reach Pakistan?
MG has not confirmed either concept for Pakistan. The company currently sells electric models locally, including the MG4 EV Urban, Binguo EV and Cyberster, which means future global EVs could eventually be considered for the market.
Of the two, a production version of the GO! would likely be more relevant to Pakistan, where the cost of imported EVs remains a major barrier. Its prospects would depend heavily on pricing, duties, charging availability, and whether MG opts for local assembly or a fully imported model.
The Cyber SUV would occupy a far narrower premium segment, but it could still serve as an image-building model if MG expands its high-end electric range locally.
For now, both vehicles remain concepts. The GO! has a clearer route towards production in 2027, while the Cyber primarily signals how MG intends to reinterpret performance as its lineup becomes increasingly electric.
