MG has just unveiled its all-new and first-ever pickup truck in Pakistan, the U9. What stands out is that, unlike other brands focusing solely on EVs, PHEVs, and REEVs, MG has taken a completely unconventional approach by introducing a turbocharged diesel engine vehicle, far from electrification.
The U9 is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine, available in Australia. Pakistan is now the second country where this pickup truck will be launched.
Competition-wise, in Australia, it competes with the Ford Ranger. But in Pakistan, it will compete with many diesel trucks, including the ISUZU D-Max and Toyota Revo.
The truck will be available for showcase and pre-booking tomorrow, November 12th, at PAPS, with deliveries starting in the first quarter of next year.
