A bizarre crash in Metro Vancouver is making the rounds online after a motorcycle collided with a BMW sedan and became suspended from a traffic signal.

According to local reports, the crash happened on Saturday in Delta, British Columbia, near the Surrey-Delta border. Police were called to the 7100-block of Scott Road after a collision involving a motorcycle and a car.

Images and videos from the scene show the motorcycle hanging from the traffic signal structure near a mall entrance. While police have not officially confirmed the exact models, the motorcycle appears to be a Suzuki GSX-R sportbike, and the car appears to be a BMW 3 Series sedan. The BMW suffered heavy front-end and windshield damage in the crash.

Authorities said the motorcyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the BMW was reportedly not injured.

Early reports suggest speed may have been a factor. According to the circulating account, the BMW allegedly moved left across the rider’s path, after which the motorcyclist applied the brakes. The bike then flipped before striking and getting stuck on the traffic signal structure.

The unusual visuals quickly went viral on social media, with many users questioning how the motorcycle ended up so high above the road. Firefighters later worked to remove the bike from the signal structure.

This crash is a reminder of how quickly things can go wrong at intersections, especially when speed is involved. The visuals may look unbelievable, but the risk of injury was very real.

For riders, the lesson is simple: fast bikes need more space, more judgment, and more restraint. At an intersection, there is almost no room for error.
