New Swift GLX CVT ⚡ Old Swift DLX A/T
We have finally got the latest generation Swift, after a long wait of 11 years. Honestly, we were not expecting Suzuki to add this many features in the new model. But the company has surprised everyone by transforming this economy hatchback into a premium car.

Dimensions
The new Swift is bigger than the old one in length and width. The old model was 3755 mm long, 1690 mm wide, and 1525 mm tall. The new model is 3845 mm long, 1735 mm wide, and 1520 mm tall.
Same boot space in both cars; 268 litres in the old model and 265 litres in the new one.
Engine & Transmission
The old Swift had a bigger engine than the new one; not more powerful, just bigger in size. It was powered by a 1328cc DOHC engine that produced 89 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. The new model has a 1197cc K-series DOHC engine that produces 83 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque.
The new Swift delivers the same power with a smaller engine and less token tax.
The top-of-the-line variant of old Swift came with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The new one has CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with a Sports mode.
Exterior
Looks-wise, the new Swift is miles ahead of the old Swift. It has automatic LED projection headlights with integrated LED DRLs, halogen fog lamps, a beautiful honeycomb grille with a chrome line, electrically adjustable and retractable side mirrors, LED rear combination rear lights, brake lamp, 16-inch diamond-cut two-tone alloy wheels, and a rear wiper with washer.
The old Swift had a basic exterior with halogen single barrel headlights, halogen fog lamps, electrically adjustable side mirrors, 15-inch alloy wheels, and halogen bulb rear lights. No DRLs, no rear wiper, no automatic adjustment feature in headlights, non-retractable side mirrors.
Interior
Suzuki has completely revamped the interior of Swift. The old model had fabric seats, a conventional plastic steering wheel with tilt adjustment, manual air conditioning system, and a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen.
The new model has a modern D-shaped leather-wrapped steering wheel with media control and cruise control buttons, tilt and telescopic adjustment, a three-tier instrument cluster with an advanced Multi-Information Display (MID), automatic climate control, driver’s seat height adjustment, and a 9-inch Android infotainment touchscreen.
Safety
The new Swift is more equipped than the old model on the safety front. We have six airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Distribution), VSC (Vehicle Stability Control), reverse camera, Hill Start Assist, rear parking sensors, cruise control in the top-of-the-line Swift GLX CVT variant.
The old Swift only had ABS and EBD. No airbags or any other safety feature whatsoever.
Price
When Suzuki discontinued the old Swift last year, the top-of-the-line Swift DLX A/T variant price was Rs. 2,150,000. The price of the new fully-loaded Swift GLX CVT variant is Rs. 2,899,000.
