The All New Toyota Hilux Revo at a Glance

Toyota Hilux has established a strong reputation for being one of the toughest 4x4s in the market. Engineers at Toyota started the development of Revo in 2009. However, in 2011, the engineers at Toyota had to go back to the design phase to improve the car, after competitors like Ford launched the Ranger. Toyota was determined to make a car that would continue to maintain high sales all over the world.

As compared to its predecessor, Toyota Hilux Vigo the new Toyota Hilux Revo (Thailand & Australia) has gone through major changes. The frame and platform are completely new, which are designed to add more strength and rigidity to the car. Toyota Hilux Revo has a lot of new features like; new engine, new gearbox, new steering wheel, new suspension, new brakes and a new dashboard. Toyota has also upgraded the under body for protection when off-roading. The car has gone through major changes on the outside as well.

Exterior:

The New Toyota Hilux Revo looks completely different; it is based on the “keen design” look, which the New Toyota Corolla uses too. The headlights are equipped with LEDs, which give the car a cool modern look. Toyota has managed to give the New Revo a more muscular look, with the new curved wheel arches. The rear of the car is a bit wider than its predecessor. The car doesn’t come with a tow bar, though it can tow up to a maximum of 3.5 tonnes. The Dimensions of the Toyota Revo are as follows:

Interior:

The interior of the Toyota Hilux Revo is completely new. The car comes with a touchscreen LCD, push start button and climate control. The car has more cup and bottle holders than the previous version and has also got a cooler box, which can store two 600ml water bottles. The New Revo comes with adjustable Steering Wheel – Tilt & Telescopic, Cruise Control, Mobile Phone Connectivity, Power Steering, Trip Computer, and Voice Recognition System. The leg room at the back seats is pretty impressive too. Overall, the interior of the New Hilux Revo has gone through impressive changes.

Engine:

Internationally, the Hilux Revo is available in 8 engine variants. The car comes with the new GD series engine (2.4 litre and 2.8 litre) and KD series engine (2.5 litres and 3.0 litre). The car is also available in 5 or 6 speed manual and automatic transmissions. The 2.0, 2.7 and 4.0 litre engines have an upgraded Dual VVT-I, which increases the power and torque of the engine.

The New Toyota Hilux Revo has been launched in Pakistan, though there are no confirmed reports on the engine specs and features. It is expected to be introduced in Pakistan with a 3.0 L 1KD-FTV inline-4 common rail diesel engine (with VNT). Toyota Hilux price in Pakistan is expected to be between 3.5 to 4.5 million PKR. The car is no doubt great in looks and Toyota claims that the new 8th generation Hilux is even more unbreakable. The car is fully equipped for off-road rallies.
