It’s February 10, 2025, and the enthusiasts have welcomed the MG HS Trophy, all-new 8th generation Sonata N Line, 5th generation Kia Sportage hybrid, Kia EV9 and pickup truck JAC T9 in less than the last 40 days, while many more are yet to come.
Almost all the local car makers, especially the new entrants including Kia Lucky Motors, Hyundai Nishat, MG Pakistan, etc., are focused on stretching their lineups ranging from sleek sedans to cutting-edge SUVs.
The PartnerShip Saga
Interestingly, the recent update reveals similar news of Nishat readying to bring electric and plugin hybrid SUVs, including Omoda E5 and Jaecco J7 PHEV in Pakistan. Again, we informed you regarding Chery’s this move year back in Jan ’24. At that time Chery was associated with Gandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL). However, after parting ways with GAL, as per our credible sources, Chery is all set to commence a partnership with NextGen Auto, a subsdiary of Nishat Group which is already an authorized assembler and manufacturer of Hyundai cars in Pakistan.
It is related to mention that Omoda and Jaecco are subsidiaries of Chery International, producing New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), including battery electric vehicles (BEVs), Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) electric, only marketed outside China to support its export strategy.
As this update came from our sources, we don’t have details of what this duo would actually comprise in terms of style, design, features, and specifications inside and outside. In the meantime, have a look at international ones.
