OMODA E5 vs FORTHING Friday: Two New EV Crossovers, Same Price Tag
Over the past few months, we’ve seen a surge of new EVs and PHEVs in Pakistan, and the momentum isn’t slowing down.
The latest entry is FORTHING Friday, an all-new electric crossover.
The company has also brought in a REEV (range-extended) version, but for this comparison, we’ll stick to the fully electric model.
A Bold New Arrival
The Friday has quickly turned heads, and for good reason. Its design bears a striking resemblance to the Lamborghini Urus, arguably one of the closest lookalikes we’ve seen from any Chinese automaker.
While it’s being introduced in Pakistan by Capital Smart Motors, in China, it sits under Dongfeng’s umbrella. And with today’s official price reveal, the Friday is ready to square up against the competition.
The Rival: OMODA E5
Just two weeks before the Friday’s launch, OMODA E5hit the local market.
Like the Friday, it’s a C-segment electric crossover, but the two take different approaches:
- FORTHING Friday – bold, flashy, and eye-catching with a lot of inspirations taken from Lamborghini Urus on the exterior side.
- OMODA E5 – Aggressive-looking front with jaw-style grille and with impressive tech at a competitive price.
Same Price, Tough Choice
What makes this head-to-head even more interesting is the price tag. Both EVs are priced at PKR 8.99 million, putting buyers in a tough spot to decide which one delivers better value.
What’s Next?
In this comparison, we’ll run a one-on-one, brochure-based comparison between both EVs, the OMODA E5 and the FORTHING Friday, to find out which one really stands out in Pakistan’s fast-growing electric vehicle market.
Note: This is a strictly brochure-to-brochure, on-paper comparison. We are not factoring in retail value, ownership experience, or subjective impressions — this is purely a spec-for-spec analysis.

Both models have almost the same power figures and are FWD. However, the E5’s smaller battery results in a fast charging time that’s half that of the Friday.

FORTHING Friday has more luxury features (seat massage, memory, starlight panoramic roof), while Omoda E5 keeps a simpler but modern interior with wireless charging and large infotainment screens. However, overall, the cabin of both cars is a big step up. The design looks smart, the materials feel solid, and overall, it’s a posh interior. The huge twin-screen setup is impressive too in both cars; both displays are sharp, bright, and quick to respond.
