Today we’re back with an owner’s review of the 2020 Mercedes E Class Cabriolet. This particular car is the E200 AMG package which comes with an in-line 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine producing 181 hp and 300 nm of torque. This engine is configured with a 9-speed automatic transmission, and the power is delivered to the rear wheels. The owner individually imported this car from Japan in 2022, and it is a Mercedes-certified car.
Price
The price range of this car can differ according to the specs and condition of the car if bought used. As per the owner, a new e200 Cabrio costs around 40 million rupees, while he paid around Rs. 32 million for this 2020 model in a slightly used condition.
Salient Features
The E Class Cabrio has many features, including the soft top convertible roof, which serves as the main highlight of the car; it also has the 12.3-inch dual screen setup for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system. It has all the safety features like collision mitigation sensors, lane keep assist, lane departure, blind spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, etc. it features ambient lighting in the interior along with a flat bottom multimedia steering, 360-degree camera, parking sensors, electric leather seats with and a list of other features.
AMG Package
This particular car is the AMG package with some extra frills, including sporty body styling, bumpers, and bigger wheel arches. It has AMG-style alloys, ventilated disc brakes, flat-bottom steering wheel, partial bucket seats, turbine-style AC vents, and a scooped bonnet.
Spare Parts
Spare parts are very tricky in the E200 Cabrio as many would think they are interchangeable with the E200 sedan, which is not the case. The parts code is also different, and most of the parts are different from the standard E Class. Availability is close to none in Pakistan, and prices are exuberantly high; however, parts are readily available from Dubai and Japan.
Ground Clearance
Despite the E200 Cabrio being very low, as per the owner, it easily goes through speed breakers with multiple passengers, probably because of its large rim size. The car is equipped with run-flat tyres, which are relatively hard and very sensitive on potholes and rough terrains.
Maintenance
The owner has not had the car serviced yet, but he knows the routine maintenance cost will be very high. An average oil change and filters cost around Rs. 70 to 80,000 from Shahnawaz, the authorized dealership for Mercedes Benz.
