Opinion – Is New United US100cc Scooty Worth it?
So, we all know that the 2nd generation United US 100cc is out now after 8 years. Unlike Atlas, Yamaha, and Suzuki, United hasn’t played the gimmick of changing stickers and calling it a new model; they’ve really done a whole generation upgrade with a new body shape, better tech, and overall refresh. The best thing is that its price has also not been increased, and it’s the same 270k price tag.
Now, at that price, you can get a nice EV scooter from a Yadea or Metro that will save you a lot of money in the long run. Let’s just see what we think of this petrol scooter from our POV, considering its price.
270k Price Tag
Essential Goodies
- Nice instrument cluster, which is all digital with blue backlit
- Fuel gauge
- Ignition lock
- Self-start
- Disc brakes
- Alloy rims
- Leather seat (artificial)
- LED DRLs
These features are more than enough for a 270k 2-wheeler, and they are the essential items you would need in your daily commute to the office or home.
For the same price, you get a CG125 SE in motorcycles, a vibration house from 1970. The thing to notice is If United can fit all these items in 100% imported units and sell them at a 270k price tag, why can’t Atlas Honda do that in CG or CD, which is all locally made? It shows that Atlas is exploiting the market and running a huge monopoly.
100% Imported + Low Price + Solid Built
It’s an imported vehicle with all the essential items and a solid build, and yet United is charging 270k, which is seriously impressive if you look at the price-to-value ratio.
If you go for locally built motorcycles like YBR and GS, which offer the same essential items and are locally made, they charge 385k—485k. So now you know if this 100cc scooter is really worth it for the price.
