Oshan X7 FutureSense ⚡ Kia Sportage AWD – A Comparison
Continuing our comparison series, we are going to compare freshly-launched Changan Oshan X7 with Kia Sportage. And the comparison will be between top-of-the-line variants of these crossovers, i.e., Oshan X7 FutureSense and Sportage All Wheel Drive (AWD).
Dimensions
Oshan X7 is 4730mm Long, 1870mm Wide, and 1720mm High, compared to 4485mm Length, 1855mm Width, and 1635mm Height of Sportage. Both cars are 5-seater, while X7 is C+ Segment and Sportage is C-Segment crossover SUV.
Engine
The engine is FutureSense is 1.5L TGDI Euro-6 which produces 185hp and 300Nm Torque, and Sportage has a 2.0MPi engine with 155hp and 196Nm Torque, means Changan’s crossover is quite more powerful than Sportage.
If we talk about the transmissions, X7 comes with 7-Speed DCT Auto compared to the 6-Speed Automatic in Kia’s vehicle. Furthermore, X7 is Front Wheel Drive (FWD), and Sportage is AWD. There are four Drive Modes in Changan Oshan, i.e., ECO, Comfort, Sport, and Custom, against three in Sportage, Normal, ECO, and Sport. Lastly, FutureSense comes with Start/Stop Technology, not offered in Sportage AWD.
Exterior
The Headlights in X7 are Bi-Beam Projector LED against Bi-Projection LED in AWD. Meanwhile, DRLs in both cars are LED. On the side, you will find Electronically Adjustable and Heated Side View Mirrors. And both cars have a Powered Trunk, Smart Key, Trunk Opener and Panoramic Sunroof.
If we compare the Alloy Wheels, X7 has 19-inch ones against the 18-inch in Sportage AWD.
Interior
The Seating Material in X7 is FAUX Perforated Leather compared to Simple Leather in Sportage. The Driving Seat in Changan’s Crossover is 6-Way Powered compared to 10-Way Powered in Sportage, while Passenger Seat is 6-Way Powered in the former against 6-Way Manual in the latter.
The Driver and Passenger Seats in Oshan are Heated Plus Ventilated, and this feature is not available in Sportage. Moving forward, AC in Oshan is Single Climate Control, while Sportage has Auto Dual Climate Control and both come with Rear AC Vents.
The size of the Meter Cluster in X7 is 7-inch Digital LCD against 3.5-inch TFT LCD in Sportage. And the 10.25-inch Infotainment Touchscreen is available in X7 compared to the 8-inch Wireless Android Auto in Sportage.
Safety and Comfort
The Airbags in FutureSense are 4, while Sportage offers only 2. The Cruise Control in the former is Adaptive compared to Standard in the latter. Common safety features in both cars are Hill Hold and Descent, ABS + EBD+ BA, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Immobilizer, and Front + Rear Parking Sensors.
The additional safety features in X7 FutureSense are Digital Video Recorder, Smart Proximity Entry, On-Board Diagnostic System, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Finally, X7 comes with a 360-Degree Camera, while Sportage has a Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines.
Price
The introductory price of Oshan X7 FutureSense is Rs. 5,950,000, while the price of Sportage AWD is Rs. 6,000,000.
