Changan Pakistan is gearing up for the launch of its second domestic model, Changan Oshan X7. The company has confirmed the official launch date, i.e., March 7, 2022. And the latest update is that the locally produced units are off to dealerships for display. That means you’ll see the car in the flesh right after its official launch.

Changan is hosting a global premier of Oshan X7, which means Pakistan and China will be the first countries to get this car. The price and booking details of the new crossover SUV will be revealed at the official launch. We’ll bring you the first look review of Oshan X7 on the same day.

Here are the units of the upcoming crossover on their way to Changan dealerships.

Until the official launch, here are the expected specs and features of the upcoming Changan Oshan X7.

Expected Specs & Features

As per our sources, Changan will launch two versions of the Oshan X7 —  5-seater and 7-seater. Both variants will come with a 1.5L turbocharged engine, producing 185 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated with a 7-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).

As per sources, the car will have Push Start, Panoramic Sunroof, electric seats, and heated side-view mirrors. The vehicle also has Eco Idle, meaning the car will switch off automatically during a traffic jam or red signal, saving fuel.

Then the car has Steering Sensitivity, which means it becomes hard at high speed and increases its stability. Furthermore, the vehicle has a 10.25-inch HMI (Human Machine Interface) and Touch Panel Climate Control.

The crossover will also be packed with safety features, such as 360° camera, Emergency Brakes, Collision Warning Alert, Lane Assist, Hill Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We know that Changan Oshan X7 will be a complete package and a value-for-money crossover, just like its sedan sibling, Changan Alsvin. Stay tuned to PakWheels for the launch event coverage and first look review.

I could remember some years back everywhere CNG filling station were opened country wide but gradually dried down. Same is likely to be the fate for Chinese products (depends upon 3 Ss and durability etc) and SUVs/ Cross overs. Personally I have gone sick of Cross Overs now that too Chinese. MG, Haval, Changan, Cherry to come, BAIC, Malaysian Proton, etc with multiple models. Whereas any credible sedan is yet to be launched other than Elantra (old shape). On one side there is a boom but it’s bubble and would soon explode itself. Wait and see and hope for the best !
