The local and international auto markets are passing through difficult times; there is uncertainty, increasing freight charges, record-high raw material prices, and a shortage of components like semiconductor chips; in short, the situation looks bleak. But among all this, Pak Suzuki has registered a rather shocking sales number last month.

Pak Suzuki Record-High Sales

According to the company, it sold 16,027 units in June 2022, which is the highest-ever sale in the company’s history. It is pertinent to mention that the previous sales record was 15,500 units in December 2021.

Now, amid current circumstances, this is a huge success for the company. The sales breakdown is currently unavailable, but we will know once the PAMA report is published next week. Pak Suzuki dominates the small car segment in Pakistan with its offerings like Suzuki Alto, Cultus, Wagon R, and Swift. And it seems that the consumers have turned towards the small cars due to ever-increasing petrol prices and overall inflation.

The end for Suzuki Cultus?

Meanwhile, there was another news we brought for you about Pak Suzuki and one of its famous cars. We told you that the company is planning to discontinue Suzuki Cultus. Over very reliable sources told us that the company is pulling the car out from the local market in coming months.

Apparent Reason?

The sources told us that the company wants to promote the recently-launched Suzuki Swift as their top offer. “Cultus was hanging somewhere between sales of Wagon R and Swift, and the company wanted the consumers to turn towards new Swift,” they added.

It has been further reported that along with Swift, the company is also seeking to boost the sales of Alto. As per the PAMA report, 9,814 units of Alto were sold in March 2022, dropping to 5,009 in April and slightly jumping to 5,461 units in May 2022. This showed that the sales of this car dropped to almost half since March.

So, we think Pak Suzuki plans to focus on Alto and Swift to maintain its upper hand in these segments.

I think that this figure would be effected if the P.S. decides to discontinue Suzuki Cultus because it is a popular choice among small car buyers and remains distinct from Alto or Swift.
