A group of four Pakistani motorcyclists has completed a cross-continental road expedition from Pakistan to Norway’s Arctic Circle on locally registered motorcycles.
Led by adventure traveler Shiraz Sami, the riders crossed several countries before reaching Nordkapp, or North Cape, in northern Norway. The destination is widely regarded as the northernmost point in mainland Europe accessible by road.
The group is believed to be among the first Pakistani groups to complete the journey from Pakistan to the Arctic Circle on motorcycles registered in Pakistan.
A Journey Across Continents
The team included Shiraz Sami, his 19-year-old son, Rashid Rafi, and Fahad Bilal Mujahid.
The expedition took them across deserts, mountain routes and European highways, while also requiring careful planning for visas, customs procedures, insurance and temporary vehicle permits.
Reaching Nordkapp is a recognized milestone for long-distance riders, but completing the journey on Pakistan-registered motorcycles added another layer of logistical difficulty.
Pakistani Registered Plates Added to the Achievement
The riders did not rent motorcycles after reaching Europe. They completed the entire expedition on bikes carrying Pakistani registration plates.
Taking locally registered vehicles across several international borders requires detailed documentation, route planning, and coordination with customs authorities.
The journey also reflects the gradual growth of Pakistan’s long-distance touring community, where international expeditions of this scale remain uncommon due to high costs, visa restrictions, and complex border procedures.
A Milestone for Pakistan’s Touring Community
Large-capacity touring motorcycles remain expensive and relatively rare in Pakistan, while access to specialized parts, riding equipment, and international insurance is limited.
Despite these challenges, the riders completed the journey, carrying Pakistan’s flag and registration plates to one of Europe’s most remote road-accessible destinations.
Motorcycles Used During the Expedition
PakWheels has learned that all motorcycles used during the journey were BMW Motorrad models.
BMW Motorrad Dewan also shared the riders’ achievement on its social media platforms. The expedition, however, remains primarily a story of planning, endurance, and a major milestone for Pakistan’s adventure-riding community.
