Petrol Price Is Likely to Decrease By Rs. 6.10 From Oct 16
After months of battling steep inflation, Pakistani consumers might finally catch a break at the fuel pump. Petrol Prices are poised for a notable dip in the upcoming fortnightly review scheduled for October 16, 2025.
Expected Price Reductions
According to preliminary figures, petrol prices are projected to fall by Rs. 6.10 per litre, settling around Rs. 262.58, offering a much-needed reprieve for motorists.
High-speed diesel (HSD) is also expected to edge down by Rs. 0.97, bringing its rate to approximately Rs. 275.84 per litre.
Meanwhile, kerosene oil could see a reduction of Rs. 2.75, landing at Rs. 182.22 per litre, and light diesel oil (LDO) may decrease by Rs. 1.64 to Rs. 163.86 per litre.
These adjustments, though modest, signal a welcome shift for transporters and households alike, especially as global energy prices begin to cool.
Global and Domestic Factors
The anticipated easing of prices is largely attributed to declining international crude oil rates, coupled with a stable Pakistani rupee against the U.S. dollar. This stability has helped limit the pass-through effect of global price fluctuations on local consumers, allowing for a slight softening in domestic petroleum costs.
If these projections hold, Pakistanis could see a rare mid-month boost to their purchasing power. The expected price cuts promise not just a sigh of relief at the pump but also a ripple of optimism across an economy long burdened by inflationary pressures.
