Petrol Prices in Pakistan Likely to Drop from September 1

ISLAMABAD – Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to decrease at the start of September, with a potential cut of up to Rs. 3.13 per litre.

According to ARY News, petroleum prices are expected to undergo a slight downward adjustment. Petrol may see a modest cut of 61 paisa per litre, while high-speed diesel is likely to drop by Rs. 3.13 per litre. Kerosene oil could decrease by Rs. 1.57 per litre, and light diesel by Rs. 2.61 per litre.

OGRA officials have already completed preliminary calculations regarding adjustments in petroleum product prices. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward its working paper to the Petroleum Division on August 31.

Following this, the final decision rests with the Prime Minister to provide approval before the new rates take effect on September 1.

It is worth noting that earlier this month, on August 16, 2025, the federal government announced new fuel prices for a fortnightly period.

Current Petrol Prices

Currently, petrol is priced at Rs. 264.61 per litre, high-speed diesel at Rs. 272.99 per litre, light diesel at Rs. 162.37 per litre, and kerosene oil at Rs. 178.27 per litre. If the suggested cuts are approved, consumers will see noticeable relief at the pump starting September 1.
