Peugeot XP400 Adds Premium Scooter Appeal to Changan Event

As we reported earlier, PakWheels is in China for exclusive coverage, and our visit to the Changan Group Global Strategy Launch and Global Partner Conference continues to show that the wider Beijing Auto Show story is not limited to cars, SUVs, and EVs. Motorcycles are also very much part of the action, with several two-wheelers displayed across the event circuit in the run-up to Auto China 2026.

After covering the Hyosung GV 350X, the Dayang ADV250, and the TCV 450, another machine that caught our attention was the Peugeot XP400. It adds a different flavor to the lineup, leaning more toward the premium adventure-scooter side than the classic cruiser approach we saw earlier.

A Quick Look at the Peugeot XP400

The Peugeot XP400 stands out with its sharp bodywork, tall stance, and rugged styling. It looks like a machine built for riders who want the practicality of a scooter but with a more adventurous edge. Compared to a traditional maxi-scooter, the XP400 has a more purposeful design, giving it a stronger road presence.

Its styling mixes urban and touring cues rather well. The front end looks modern and aggressive, while the overall body shape gives it a more crossover-like personality. In simple terms, it does not look like a regular scooter, and that is exactly the point.

Engine and Key Details

The Peugeot XP400 is powered by a 400cc-class single-cylinder engine and features automatic scooter convenience. It is designed to offer a balance of performance, comfort, and everyday usability, which fits the bike’s premium adventure-scooter image. Based on Peugeot Motocycles’ official product information, the XP400 range uses a 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 36.7 hp at 8,150 rpm and 38.1 Nm at 5,400 rpm, with ABS, traction control, and 15-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels.

More Bikes, More Variety

What makes these events interesting is the range on display. One moment it is a V-twin cruiser, the next it is an adventure scooter, and then a feature-loaded urban machine shows up to keep everyone guessing. That variety is what makes the coverage more fun and more relevant for bike enthusiasts.

We have already covered the Hyosung GV 350X, the Dayang ADV250, and the TCV 450, and the Peugeot XP400 now adds another layer to that story. PakWheels has also captured exclusive photos from the event, including close-ups of the bike’s design and display setup.
