Proton Pakistan Achieves Major Sales Milestone

Proton, the Malaysian automotive brand, has recently launched its second car in Pakistan, the Proton Saga. Last year, the company made its debut in the Pakistani market with a luxury SUV, the Proton X70. Now that the company has two strong players in the market, one SUV and one sedan, things are falling into place. Proton Pakistan is celebrating its first milestone of selling 1,000 car units in Lahore. Last night, the company shared the big news on social media, and called it a “momentous breakthrough” because of the name of their Lahore dealership, Momentum Automobiles. (Appreciate the wordplay, Proton!)

Proton has achieved another momentous breakthrough. We are pleased to announce that 1,000 units have been successfully…

Introducing high-quality and modern cars at affordable prices is Proton’s game plan for the Pakistani market. Both Proton X70 and Proton Saga are potential contenders in their respective car segments. Both have modern looks and powerpack features. The best part about both these cars is that the company has tagged them with prices cheaper than their competition, hitting it right in the feels of local consumers.

However, selling 1,000 cars means that Proton has received 1,000 bookings. The deliveries of these cars are still in the pipeline. Rumour has it that Proton is struggling to keep up with the demand for its cars in Pakistan and that the company has a long waiting list for the delivery of booked cars.

Proton Pakistan has a greenfield status under the Automotive Development Policy (ADP 2016 – 2021). Their local partner Al-Haj Group will start the local assembly of Proton cars by June 2021. That will help the company manage the demand and supply of its vehicles. With the rising popularity of the Proton X70 SUV and  Proton Saga sedan, the company’s sales are only going to go up from here.

Congratulations to Proton for achieving this milestone, and best wishes for the company’s future  in the Pakistani market.
