Proton Pakistan decreases its Car Prices
After the Pakistani Rupee observed appreciation, all the market players except two (Hyundai and KIA) announced a reduction in their car prices. And now, in a bid to trickle down the effect to its customers, Proton Pakistan has also decided to decrease its car prices.
The company’s price reduction notification has revealed that the customers with old bookings got an extra benefit.
Proton X70 New Prices
- The price of X70 FWD Premium has decreased by Rs. 110,000 and will now cost Rs. 7,190,000 against Rs. 7,300,000. Whereas customers with old bookings will have to pay Rs. 6,990,000 against Rs. 7,100,000.
- After a reduction of Rs. 110,000, X70 AWD Executive will be priced at Rs. 6,740,000 against Rs. 6,850,000. Whilst, customers with old bookings, will have to pay Rs. 6,540,000 instead of Rs. 6,650,000.
Proton Saga Prices
The company didn’t decrease the price of Proton Saga for the new bookings, whereas those who have old bookings can enjoy the relief of Rs. 100,000. Here are the new prices of Saga Variants that come under old bookings.
- Proton Saga Ace price is reduced by Rs. 100,000 and will now cost Rs. 3,049,000 compared to Rs. 3,149,000.
- Proton Saga AT Standard new price is Rs. 2,899,000 instead of Rs. 2,999,000. Means, car price has dropped by Rs. 100,000.
- Saga MT new price is Rs. 2,724,000 against Rs. 2,824,000. Meaning, price is reduced by Rs. 100,000.
Justification for not decreasing SAGA price
In a notification, the company has stated that other automakers unloaded a cumulative price hike whilst proton car prices were increased by 11 percent, which doesn’t even match 20 percent devaluation observed in Pak Rupee’s value. Meaning, the company has illustrated that Proton Saga’s price is still touching a low – doesn’t deserve a price reduction.
