Punjab Government Launches Interest-Free E-Taxi Scheme for Youth
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has launched the E-Taxi Scheme 2025, introducing 1,100 electric taxis across the province. The program aims to provide an eco-friendly alternative to traditional fuel-based vehicles while tackling rising air pollution in urban centers.
Employment Opportunities
The scheme is designed to support unemployed youth by offering vehicles on interest-free installments. This initiative will enable young people to earn a livelihood, promote self-employment, and reduce the financial barriers to starting small-scale businesses.
Youth Empowerment and Accessibility
Priority will be given to educated and jobless individuals who meet the eligibility criteria. Officials emphasized that the project combines environmental sustainability with social uplift, reflecting the government’s dual focus on economic empowerment and public welfare.
