Rawalpindi Launches Evidence-Based Traffic Challans

Rawalpindi’s City Traffic Police has launched a new digital traffic challaning system called One App, bringing evidence-based traffic enforcement to the city.

According to reports, the system was launched under the leadership of Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Beenish Fatima. The new setup will allow traffic wardens to issue challans with proper digital records, including video evidence of violations.

What Is the One App System?

The One App / Evidence-Based Challaning System is designed to make traffic fines more transparent and easier to verify.

Under the new system, video recordings of traffic violations will be preserved. This means challans can be checked against recorded evidence, reducing the chances of disputes between drivers and traffic officials.

Why It Matters for Drivers

For Rawalpindi drivers, the biggest change is that traffic enforcement will no longer depend only on roadside arguments or manual records.

If implemented properly, the system can help in three key areas:

Area What Changes
Transparency Violations can be supported by video evidence
Verification Challans can be checked through preserved digital records
Accountability Traffic staff and motorists both come under a clearer process

This is important in a city where traffic congestion, wrong parking, lane violations, one-way driving, and signal violations remain regular problems.

Part of Punjab’s Digital Enforcement Push

The Rawalpindi launch follows Punjab’s wider move toward digital traffic enforcement. Earlier this year, Punjab introduced the Digital Traffic E-Challan One App to modernize challaning and make enforcement more evidence-based across the province.

Rawalpindi has also been moving toward camera-based traffic management. In November 2025, CTP Rawalpindi launched e-challans through Safe City cameras to improve traffic monitoring and enforcement.

Takeaway

Rawalpindi’s One App system is a major step toward digital and evidence-based traffic policing. For drivers, the message is simple: violations are becoming easier to record, verify, and enforce.

The real test will be implementation. If video evidence is properly stored and challans remain easy to verify, the system could reduce disputes and make traffic enforcement more transparent.
