Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Rai Mazhar Iqbal, has recorded a special message for the citizens about Coronavirus awareness. The CTO informed that almost 450 City Traffic Police Rawalpindi personnel are performing their duties on different highways of the city. They are doing their best to ensure traffic flow, especially at Iftaar times in Ramadan when the markets are closing down and there is a flood of people on the roads.

The CTO also mentioned that 93 officers had been infected by the virus, and three have lost their lives.  He said that the Rawalpindi Traffic Police are playing their role in implementing Coronavirus SOPs in the city and requested the citizens to avoid unnecessary travels and, this year, celebrate Eid at their homes.

The CTO has instructed the staff to disinfect the entire premises of the traffic police headquarters and other traffic police posts. The police personnel have strict orders by the CTO to wear masks, maintain social distance, and follow all COVID-19 related SOPs.

Rawalpindi City Traffic Police has taken this step to control the spread of Coronavirus and save the lives of all citizens. We hope that the public will understand that and act responsibly to carry out the mission. Corona sy darna nahi, larna hai!
