Rear Cross-Traffic Alert: Making Life Easier for Drivers
Rear view cameras and parking sensors help a lot in parking and backing up your car. However, these technologies don’t help in seeing oncoming cross traffic while backing up. RCTA or Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system is the solution for such tricky situations.
RCTA warns you whenever a vehicle enters in your backing path. There are two sensors in the rear bumper that detect movement from the right or the left rear of the car at 120-degree angle. A warning tone on dashboard alerts the driver if the sensors detect any movement. In short, this technology is a great help in avoiding collisions while backing up.
