Pakistani automaker Sazgar Engineering Works Limited has announced plans to purchase a commercial plot in Lahore’s Central Business District (CBD) for Rs1.47 billion, signaling a significant investment beyond its core automotive operations.
Profit by Pakistan reports that, according to a disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company intends to acquire a 5.07-kanal commercial plot as part of its expansion strategy.
Details of the CBD Lahore Plot Purchase
The company stated that the commercial land is located within Lahore’s Central Business District, one of the Punjab government’s flagship urban development projects aimed at creating a modern commercial hub in the city.
The proposed transaction values the 5.07-kanal plot at Rs1.47 billion, making it a notable corporate property investment in the district.
Under the disclosure, Sazgar has authorized its CEO to negotiate and finalize the deal, including completing all legal and regulatory formalities required for the acquisition.
The development aligns with the CBD Lahore initiative, which aims to attract corporate offices, commercial towers, and multinational businesses to the area.
What This Means for Sazgar
For Sazgar, the move suggests a broader growth strategy. The company has steadily expanded its footprint in Pakistan’s auto market through the local assembly of Haval SUVs, which compete with models covered in PakWheels reviews and comparisons, such as the Toyota Fortuner and KIA Sportage.
The new property investment could potentially support future corporate offices, commercial operations, or brand-related infrastructure in Lahore.
What Happens Next
The purchase will proceed once negotiations conclude and legal formalities are completed. Sazgar has not yet disclosed the plot’s specific use or a development timeline, and further details may emerge after the transaction is finalized or officially announced.
