Sindh – Pakistan’s First Online Premium Number Plates Auction Today
Pakistan’s First online Auction for premium Number plates by Sindh Excise and Taxation is happening today. According to details, consumers can obtain online number plates in Platinum, gold, and silver categories. It is pertinent to mention that earlier media reports suggested that this is the second auction for premium number plates in Sindh. The first one was in June 2024, where the “A1” number plate was sold for Rs. 1 crore. Meanwhile, the second physical bidding is going to be held on October 12, 2024.
“All the funds obtained from the online bidding will be spent on Sindh People’s Housing Project for flood victims in the province,” the department announced.
Premium Number Plates
According to the Sindh Excise website, “the Sindh Premium Number Allocation System is a structured process implemented to manage the distribution of prestigious vehicle registration numbers in the province.” These numbers, which are appealing due to their unique patterns or sequential arrangements, are periodically made available to the public.
Procedure for Auction
The participants need to download the Sindh Excise Department App or visit the Excise Department’s website. Then follow these steps:
- Register online within 3 days and select your desired number.
- Participate in online fundraising and obtain attractive number plates by successfully bidding online within three days after registration.
- In case you do not pay the remaining amount by the specified deadline, your winning number will no longer be available, and the security deposit will be forfeited.
- The number will then be offered again for auction.
Furthermore, fundraising for physical bidding will be held soon in Karachi after the online bidding.
