Today we’re back with the final episode of the Ramadan restoration series, where we restored a w221 S500. In this video, we will show you the final look of this transformed Mercedes S Class and talk you through the entire restoration process.

Mechanical Work

After buying the car, the main focus was to make it mechanically perfect hence it was left in the workshop for a few days. Firstly, the suspension was worn out; hence a new front and rear suspension was sourced and fitted. Other than that, its tappet cover also had some fixed issues. After this, the car seemed alright until it broke down, and we learned that its ECU was faulty. A new ECU was fitted, after which the air suspension broke down due to a faulty gear mount. After fixing all the problems, the owner changed all the fluids, batteries, and belts.

Exterior

After the mechanical work, new windmill-style rims and tires were installed, which gave the car a unique look. Some paint correction was done, and the car’s bonnet, roof, rear fenders, and trunk were wrapped in bronze. All chrome parts were blacked out, including the front grill, door handles, and side moldings, to complement the black theme.

Interior

The interior had some problems which were fixed. Firstly, the driver seat was worn out, for which new patches of leather were installed. Other than that, the roof liner on the sunroof cover was hanging, which was fixed. The sunroof button was not working, so a new panel was sourced, and finally, the interior was detailed.

Cost

The mechanical work cost, including suspension, ECU, and other things, came at around 10 lakh rupees. Moreover, the beautification cost was about 5 to 6 lakhs, including rims, tyres, and wraps. Overall, this S-class restoration process costs the owner around 15 to 16 lakh rupees.
