Today we’re back with the owner’s review of the newly launched Honda Civic. Honda Atlas launched the 11th generation Civic in 2022 in 3 variants, and this particular car is the mid-spec Oriel variant with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 127hp and 180Nm of torque.

The new Civic has more of a matured look relative to the outgoing 10th generation, which had a very aggressive and sporty exterior. This review features an owner who has modified his new Civic and revamped its exterior look, making it much more flared up than the stock car. Let’s learn more about his experience with the Civic so far and what modifications he has made to make his car stand out from other Civics on the road.

Purchase Decision

The owner is originally a Toyota fan, but when he saw the new Civic, he really liked the looks and wanted to try out the new generation. Additionally, he really liked the newly introduced colour named “Morning Blue Mist Metallic” so he bought the car paying an extra 25000 rupees for the colour. He purchased the car at a price of Rs. 6 million.

Salient Features

Despite the modifications, the Civic 2022 is well equipped with features including a push start with smart entry, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, digital instrument cluster, cruise control, leather seats, a sunroof, and many other features.

Modifications

The main highlight of this modified Civic is the airmatic suspension which the owner installed by which he can raise and drop the car with a remote. This air suspension is 3-way adjustable and gives the car an eye-pleasing stance. He also installed 18-inch alloy rims with low-profile tyres, which compliments the car way more than the standard 16-inch alloys.

The owner also added carbon fiber trims across the car along with a body kit. He also added LED bulbs in the headlights replacing the standard yellow bulb. The overall modification is mainly cosmetic, and the owner did not tweak anything with the engine or performance of the car.

Fuel Average

Due to the broad rims and suspension, the fuel average of this car is compromised. The owner initially got around 10km/l within the city when the car was stock, but with the larger wheels, it has dropped down to 7 to 8 km/l within the city on normal driving. The owner does not drive it on highways often, so he’s not sure about its average on a long stretch.

Drawbacks Of Modification

For the sake of the car to look aesthetically pleasing, the owner faces some drawbacks, including bad fuel consumption. Also, the low-profile tyres are very sensitive on potholes and can easily be damaged, so the owner must maneuver the car very carefully.

Due to the car’s low stance, the body kit is prone to be damaged on speed bumps and has to be driven with a lot of patience, but the suspension can be raised, preventing that to some extent. The airmatic suspension can also have problems in the future, but according to the owner, it is quite reliable, and parts for it are available.
