Honda Jazz 2018 facelift launched in India

Honda India on 19th July 2018 has launched an update of Honda Jazz third generation, which the company introduced back in mid-2015. The hatchback in this recent facelift has received many updates. The car is now equipped with push start button, cruise control, all-new 7-inch infotainment system with both Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, keyless-entry etc. The car is being offered in three different variants,

  • S
  • V
  • VX

The S variant is only available in the diesel engine; however, the V and VX variants come in both petrol and diesel engines.

The petrol variant of the car is equipped with a 1.2-litre engine that makes 89 bhp and 110 Nm of torque whereas the diesel trim is available with a 1.5-litre engine that makes 99 bhp and offers 200 Nm of torque. Honda Jazz petrol variant is available with a CVT automatic transmission and 5-speed manual transmission, while the diesel one has only 6-speed manual gearbox option.

Before venturing further, it is important to mention here that the car is available in five different colours including Radiant Red, Lunar Silver,  and Orchid White.

The all-new Honda Jazz 2018 has also received some cosmetic changes in the exterior as well such as it has now a sharper and more aggressive looking front bumper etc.

Moving onwards, the Honda Jazz S variant comes with features like LED tail-lamps, ABS brakes with EBD, dual airbags, defogger, rear parking sensors etc. The V variant offers keyless entry, cruise control, 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, paddle-shifters in petrol variant that is mated to CVT etc.

Furthermore, the top of the line variant, VX, comes with many added features, a couple of them include a 7-inch infotainment system with navigation, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Steering wheel is leather and the car comes with dual airbags and ABS with EBD. The top variant also has electrically adjustable and folding fender mirrors.

The top of the line VX diesel variant(manual transmission) is available at a price tag of Rs 9.29 lakh (Indian Rupee) that translates to around PKR 17.40 lakh in Pakistan. While the petrol variant with CVT transmission and manual transmission in India are priced at Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 7.79 lakh, respectively. In Pakistan, their price would be around PKR 16.84 lakh and PKR 14.59 lakh respectively.

Considering how Honda Pakistan is still dragging the older generation Honda City, it would not be wrong to say that Pakistani automobile consumers are also looking for some change in the current Honda lineup.
