Today we’re back with the owner’s review of a 2019 Mercedes G63 AMG. Originally developed as a military off-roader, the G class debuted in 1979, and more luxurious models were added later on. This particular car is the latest generation which came out in 2019.

The G class previously had a 5.5 liter V8 engine, but with the latest iteration, a 4.0 liter V8 was introduced, which produces a power output of 577 hp and 850 nm of torque. This engine is configured with a 9-speed automatic transmission delivering power to all four wheels enabling the G63 AMG to accelerate from 0 to 100 in just 5.5 seconds.

Salient Features

This top-of-the-line G63 AMG variant has almost all bells and whistles equipped. However, some features are optional, which you can pay for. These features include 21-inch alloy wheels, a digital instrument cluster along with an infotainment screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a Burmaster sound system, heated and ventilated electric seats with memory function, almond brown leather upholstery, an Alcantara roof, paddle shifters, driver assistance features and much more. This particular miss out on paid options like rear entertainment, 22-inch wheels, etc.

Fuel Average

As per the owner, he has only tested this car within the city, and it is giving around five km/l, which is acceptable for an SUV with almost 600 horsepower. In his opinion, fuel average is somewhat irrelevant in an SUV of this caliber and especially the G63, which is performance-centric.

Comfort

According to the owner, this latest iteration of the Mercedes G class is a major improvement in terms of comfort. The previous G class’s seats were very stiff, and the cushioning was very hard. On the contrary, Mercedes has significantly focused on the G class’s comfort this time along with its rugged and tough characteristics. The seats are very comfortable, and the space is ideal for 5 passengers.

Price

As per the owner, currently, with the customs duties and taxes, this particular spec of the G class costs around 190 to 195 million rupees. This price includes roughly 130 million rupees of taxes, the remainder being the actual car’s price.
