Seventy years ago, Toyota’s famous off-roader debuted in the international market. You’ll be surprised to know that this Toyota superstar had a rough start. Toyota Land Cruiser was offered to the American National Police Reserve in 1951, but they chose Mitsubishi Jeep over this one. The Land Cruiser carried through and became an international icon. Toyota is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its iconic off-roader with a special edition of the 1970s series Land Cruiser

The interesting thing about this special Land Cruiser edition is that it’s limited to just 600 units in Australia. 320 double-cab pickups, 200 single-cab trucks, and 80 Land Cruiser wagons will go on sale in Australia in September 2021.

Land Cruiser 70th Anniversary Edition

The exclusive Toyota Land Cruiser 70th anniversary edition is inspired by the 70s series first introduced in 1984. It has that old-fashioned boxy look, but, this time, in three retro colors: French Vanilla, Merlot Red, and Sandy Taupe. It carries the Land Cruiser heritage with its iconic ruggedness and off-road ability.

Everything about the 70th Anniversary edition is black and dark. There’s a front all-black grille with TOYOTA written in silver. The bumper, headlight bezel, and fender flares are also black. A set of black 16-inch alloy wheels complete the look.

Exterior

Inside, the interior’s been done up in black too. You’ll find black upholstery on the seats and matching leather wraps around the steering wheel and gearshift. All this blackness is complemented with a wood finish on the dashboard and the steering wheel.

Under the hood is a 4.5-liter turbodiesel V8 engine that makes 203 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. The engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Australians are beyond excited for the 70th anniversary Land Cruiser special edition. While the rest of the world eagerly awaits the launch of the new 300-series Land Cruiser. You can find 1000+ used Land Cruiser in Pakistan or import a new one through a Toyota dealership.

“a special edition of the 1970s series Land Cruiser”, a little correction, as Its not 1970’s series, but Land Cruiser Series 70 which was launched in mid eighties.
