Toyota Introduces Baby Land Cruiser FJ — A Compact Off-Roader for 2026

Toyota has officially unveiled the prototype for the Land Cruiser FJ, a new compact off-roader set to join the legendary Land Cruiser lineup. The Japanese automaker says a local launch is scheduled for mid-2026, with global availability likely to follow. The FJ is designed to offer “Freedom & Joy,” combining daily drivability with serious off-road capability.

The Land Cruiser name dates back to 1951, when the Toyota BJ became the first vehicle to reach the sixth station of Mount Fuji. Over the last 70+ years, the Land Cruiser has become synonymous with durability, safety, and rugged off-road performance.
