Toyota Fortuner G 2020 – Price, Specs & Features: First Look Review
Toyota Fortuner has a rich history in Pakistan, and it is one of the most successful SUVs in Pakistan. There are currently three variants available in Toyota Fortuner: Sigma 4 (4×4), V (4×2), and G (4×2). IMC has recently launched the Toyota Fortuner G variant as the standard base variant in the Fortuner lineup. Due to the rapidly increasing prices of automobiles in Pakistan, there is a significant decrease in demand. In an effort to make Fortuner affordable to the local buyers, Toyota has launched the G variant at PKR 7,299,000 (ex-factory price). In many aspects, the G variant is quite similar to the V variant apart from some key differences in features. The G variant is PKR 700,000 cheaper than the V variant. Toyota has targeted those customers with the G variant who preferred to buy a used Fortuner.
Exterior:
The exterior dimensions and the wheelbase are the same across all the Fortuner variants. The G variant does not have a power back door, which is also absent in the V variant. Only Sigma 4 variant gets it. Compared to the V variant, the G variant does not have LED PES headlamps. Instead, it comes with bi-halogen PES headlamps without a leveling feature. Foglamps are also halogen in the G variant compared to the LED ones that come with the V variant. The G variant gets 17-inch rim compared to 18-inch rims that come with the V variant. The design of the rims is also different from those of the V variant. The side profile of the G variant is similar to that of the V variant. Some important exterior features of the Fortuner G are Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), LED taillamps, high mount stop lamp, chrome front grille, electric and power-retractable side mirrors, chrome door handles, black side-step, silver door belt molding, mid guards and air spats.

The major difference in the interior is that of the seats. In the V variant, there are leather seats, whereas the G variant gets premium fabric seats that suit the hot climate of Pakistan. The color of the premium fabric is a mixture of brown and black in the G variant. The color of the leather is a mixture of chamois and black in the V variant. The door trim in the G variant comprises of premium fabric and silver whereas the door trim in the V variant comprises of leather and silver. Another difference is that of the power driver seat that comes with the V variant and the manual driver seat that comes with the G variant.
Some important interior features of the Fortuner G include push start, power door locks, smart entry, illuminated entry system, shopping, and coat hooks, automatic climate control, side defroster, cool and hot box, rear armrest, three accessory connectors, leather stitched and wooden steering wheel, an 8-inch infotainment display, six speakers and a shark fin antenna.

The Fortuner G variant comes with an inline 4-cylinder 2.7L petrol engine with no intercooler. The output of this engine is 122 kW at 5200rpm and 245Nm of torque at 4000rpm. The engine uses a sequential multi-port fuel injection system. This is the same engine that comes with the Fortuner V variant. However, the Sigma4 variant comes with a 2.8L diesel engine that produces 130 kW of power at 3400rpm and 450Nm of torque at 1600 to 2400rpm. There is no rear differential lock in the G variant.
