Indus Motor Pakistan has announced to completely shut down its production from December 20, 2022 to December 30, 2022.
The company has formally and officially communicated to its traders that Indus Motor Pvt Ltd. is going to halt all production from 20th to 30th December, including these two dates as well. The company has stated in the official letter that the State Bank of Pakistan has made it compulsory for car manufacturers to seek prior approval for the import of Complete Knock Down (CKD) kits as well as parts of passenger cars.
This added procedure for the auto sector has made the process of importing auto parts and CKD kits longer for car manufacturers. Delays in approvals led to delays in imports and acquiring of consignments of raw materials of the company. This, in turn, created a deficit in the inventory leading to issues regarding production activities and the supply chain.
Due to these reasons, Toyota, known as Indus Motors in Pakistan, cannot continue its production operations and will remain shut from 20th to 30th December this year.
