Toyota Opens Bookings for new FJ Cruiser and Land Cruiser Hybrid in Philippines

Toyota Motor Philippines has opened reservations for two important Land Cruiser models, which are the all-new Land Cruiser FJ and the Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid.

The Land Cruiser FJ is the bigger talking point for most buyers. It brings the Land Cruiser name into a smaller 4×4 package, while the LC300 HEV pushes Toyota’s flagship SUV further into hybrid territory.

Both models were shown during the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show, where Toyota also previewed its overall electrified and off-road product direction.

Land Cruiser FJ: Baby Version of Land Cruiser

The new Land Cruiser FJ, Toyota says that FJ stands for Freedom & Joy and is a lite version of the Land Cruiser series. However, it’s still an off-roader SUV. It uses a ladder-frame platform, part-time 4WD, and off-road hardware.

Therefore, it’s not an urban crossover SUV; it can go off-road like any other Toyota pickup or SUV.

Land Cruiser HEV: Toyota’s Flagship Goes Hybrid

The Land Cruiser 300 HEV sits at the other end of the market.

It keeps the scale, luxury, and off-road credentials of the LC300, but adds a hybrid system to Toyota’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. This is less about making the Land Cruiser cheap to run and more about keeping Toyota’s flagship relevant as luxury SUVs move toward electrification.

Toyota’s Strategy for Land Cruiser Series

Toyota is using the Land Cruiser name in two very different ways.

The FJ lowers the entry point into the Land Cruiser family without turning it into a city-only crossover. It gives Toyota a product for buyers who want authentic 4×4 credibility, a compact footprint, and a strong visual identity.

The LC300 HEV, meanwhile, shows where the luxury SUV market is heading. Big SUVs are not disappearing, but their powertrains are changing. Hybrid systems allow automakers to protect performance while improving efficiency and emissions optics.

For Pakistan, LC300 Has the Stronger Pull

In Pakistan, Toyota already offers the Land Cruiser 300 as an imported model. It has a strong name in the flagship SUV segment and remains more popular among high-end SUV buyers who can spend 8-10 crore on an SUV.

The older-generation FJ Cruiser is also available in Pakistan’s used import market, but it appeals to a smaller niche. The LC300 is more relevant to flagship SUV buyers in its turbo V6 powertrain.

However, if the hybrid LC300 performs well in other Asian markets, it could eventually begin arriving in Pakistan through the used-import market.
