Indus Motor Company (IMC) is making headlines again, but this time it’s not for a price hike.
Toyota has announced a significant promotional price reduction on its top-tier Yaris variants to celebrate its 35th anniversary in Pakistan.
While the limited-time offer is framed as a celebration, the timing is particularly interesting. Just yesterday (May 12, 2026), Hyundai Nishat officially launched the Elantra 1.6L Special Edition at PKR 6,449,000, packed with advanced features like wireless charging, powered seats, and Tetra LED headlamps.
By slashing nearly 4 lacs off the Yaris flagship today, Toyota has effectively created a PKR 450,000 price gap between the top-spec Yaris and the new Elantra SE.
The Price Breakdown
| Variant | Old Price | Promotional Price | Saving |
| Yaris 1.5 ATIV X (Black Interior) | PKR 6,449,000 | PKR 6,049,000 | PKR 400,000 |
| Yaris 1.5 ATIV X (Beige Interior) | PKR 6,389,000 | PKR 5,999,000 | PKR 390,000 |
Market Context: Why the 1.5L Flagship?
Industry data suggests that the Yaris 1.5L has been feeling the heat from two sides:
The New Elantra 1.6 SE Threat
Hyundai’s new Special Edition launched yesterday, offering “mini-flagship” vibes with features previously reserved for the 2.0L variant. At PKR 6.45 million, it was priced exactly where the Yaris 1.5 used to sit. Toyota’s drop to PKR 5.99 million is a direct counter-punch to maintain its value proposition.

The Corolla Overlap
Previously, the Yaris 1.5 was priced dangerously close to the Corolla Altis 1.6 X. This reduction restores the necessary breathing room between the two siblings, ensuring that the Yaris doesn’t lose customers to its own bigger brother.
Inventory and Production
With IMC’s focus on HEVs like the Corolla Cross, keeping the CKD lines for the Yaris running efficiently is vital. A price cut is the fastest way to clear inventory and keep plant utilization high.
The PakWheels Take
For a car that was recently subject to budget-related price hikes, a PKR 400,000 reduction is rare. If you were sitting on the fence between a top-of-the-line Yaris and the newly launched Elantra 1.6 SE, the decision just got a lot harder. Toyota is betting that an approximate PKR 6.0 million price tag will outweigh the Special Edition bells and whistles Hyundai just brought to the table.
