Honda Atlas Cars has notified that the new pricing applies to all new orders made on or after July 1, 2026, including back orders with partial payment already submitted.
Why the price went up?
Previously, Toyota also increased the prices of Corolla Cross’s hybrid trims, and now Honda has also increased the price of the HR-V’s hybrid trim. These increases are tied to the expiry of a sales tax concession on hybrid vehicles.
Previously, HEVs and PHEVs in Pakistan were subject to a reduced sales tax rate of 8.5% or 12.75% for engines above 1800 cc. That concession expired on June 30, 2026, and the government has not extended it or announced a replacement policy.
As a result, HEVs and PHEVs now default to the standard sales tax rate of 25%, which applies to cars above 1400 cc, pushing up prices across the hybrid lineup.
The manufacturer’s price hasn’t increased; it’s the sales tax on these cars that is causing the price increase.
