Unregistered Cars will Not be Allowed in Islamabad from 15th April 2017

In a surprising turn of events, the Islamabad Traffic Police is all prepared & geared up to administrate strict actions against unregistered cars commuting towards the capital city. The ITP has launched a 15-day campaign to spread awareness among drivers to stop using unauthorized/non-pattern number plates from their vehicles.

However, after 15th April 2017, the law enforcement agency will be administrating strict actions against both, unregistered vehicles and vehicles with unauthorized/non-pattern number plates. Due to the nature of this campaign, both new and old car owners will need to know the following collection of information:

  1. Use ETO’ issued registration plates on your car to avoid any inconvenience.
  2. Acquire ‘Computerized Registration Plates’ from your respective ETO’.
  3. Vehicles registered before the advent of Pattern plates in Pakistan need to be fitted with the computerized registration plates, which can be acquired from ETO’.
  4. Any vehicle displaying a fancy number plate, including press, advocate etc will not be exempted from this crackdown.

In the case of any queries, do not hesitate to contact your concerned Excise and Taxation Office immediately.
