Video: Watch The 2000HP TT Lamborghini Gallardo Cross 213MPH In A Half A Mile Race
When Audi took over Lamborghini, they decided to launch a smaller car for those who were not looking for an insane fire spitting V12 monster that Lamborghini is famous for making. And that was the birth of the Gallardo, affectionately known as baby Lambo. Lamborghini Gallardo comes with a sensible V10 and normal doors instead of those trademark Lamborghini vertical doors. The Gallardo was supposed to be the car for those who are looking for a “practice supercar.” It was supposed to be the sensible choice for the rich and famous. It was an Italian car made a very German mindset when it was launched a decade or so ago. It’s been two years now since the Lamborghini pulled the plug of this baby Lambo.
As mentioned above, Lamborghini intended to make a car that was supposed to be a bit practical. But what they might not have predicted the aftermarket tuning potential of the car. The V10 at the back of the car is famous for its readiness to be modified. And people have modified it quite a lot. The latest example is of this 2000 HP twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Gallardo.
Since its launch, auto tuners had enough time to have their way with Gallardo’s engine. There are already a handful of twin turbo kits available in the market that can help you make 1000 to 1200 HP on normal fuel. A tuning firm called the Underground Racing has been modifying Gallardos for quite some time now. Their latest offering is this twin turbo Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera.
The Underground Racing-tuned TT Lamborghini Superleggera took part in the TX2K16 event in Texas and did several rolling start half a mile runs. The TT Gallardo Superleggera was able to do a 213 MPH half a mile run.
