Zeekr 8X Officially Debuts: A Hybrid Giant Aiming for the Range Rover
The premium SUV market is undergoing a seismic shift as high-performance “Super Hybrids” begin to eclipse traditional luxury icons. On April 17, 2026, Zeekr, the high-end arm of Geely, officially launched the 2027 Zeekr 8X in China. This isn’t just another electric SUV; it is a 1,381hp plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engineered to disrupt the dominance of the Range Rover and BMW X5M.
Super Hybrid Power: 1,381hp and 1,400km Range
The headline figure for the Zeekr 8X is its staggering output. Built on the new Haohan-S 900V super hybrid architecture, the flagship “Yao Ying” variant features a triple-motor setup paired with a 2.0L turbocharged engine. Together, they generate 1,381 horsepower and 1,810 Nm of torque, propelling this 2.8-ton SUV from 0-100 km/h in just 2.96 seconds.
But for the Pakistani market, the real draw is the end of range anxiety. By utilizing a massive 70kWh CATL Freevoy battery, the 8X offers an electric-only range of up to 328 km (WLTP). When the petrol engine kicks in, the total combined range stretches to 1,049 km, making it a viable luxury cruiser for long-distance travel on the M-2 Motorway.

Ultra-Fast Charging and Digital Luxury
The 8X is one of the first hybrids to utilize a 900V electrical system, allowing it to charge like a pure EV. It supports 500kW DC fast charging, capable of taking the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 9 minutes.
Inside, the cabin is a tech sanctuary. The dashboard is dominated by a 13.02-inch digital cluster and a 44-inch holographic head-up display. Rear passengers are treated to “aviation-style” reclining seats, an 8-inch climate control screen, and a 9.5-liter onboard fridge/heater that ranges from -6°C to 50°C.
The “Range Rover” Rival at Half the Price?
Measuring 5.1 meters long, the Zeekr 8X is slightly larger than a Range Rover Sport but priced significantly lower. In China, the 8X has launched with a limited-time starting price of approximately $45,800 (approx. 12.7 million PKR), with the range-topping tri-motor variant reaching $65,800.

Key Takeaway
While an official launch by Zeekr Pakistan is yet to be confirmed, the 8X’s hybrid nature makes it a prime candidate for luxury importers. Its ability to offer hypercar performance with the refueling convenience of a petrol engine addresses the biggest hurdle for high-end buyers in the region.
