Default Help Required: Honda Accord 1998 CF3

    Hi,
I have a Honda Accord CF3 1998 model, I have recently replaced its engine and transmission and am facing few problems with it:
1- Some times its D4 light starts flashing and the car fails to shift gears and keeps running in the same gear (probably 2nd gear)
2- Some times its Spedo meter stops working while the RPM is working fine. When this happens it starts giving heavy jerks while driving, and this usually happens when the car is started in the morning in cold.
3- Most frequent and important problem is that is sometime skips the transmission while shifting from first to second gear and when it does so, the first gear is released and second is not engaged, this causes a jerk in the car which I fear might lead to damaging the auto transmission of the car.

According to my mechanic this is being caused due to the old wiring of the car and has suggested me to replace the wiring of this car altogether. I am unable to digest this suggestion of his and need a second opinion.

Can anyone help me with this or suggest a good mechanic who understand these cars and can help me.

    Thanks and best regards

    Muhammad Abid

    Hi @Xulfiqar:
I wish I was in Karachi.

I am using this car on petrol by the way. Do you know anyone in Lahore who can fix this problem or may be if I can make my mechanic talk to you and you may guide him if that is possible.

    Thanks

well - speaking of people repairing auto trannies - I get a lot of cars that were "repaired" by these shops and the clutch pack pressures were way waaaay out of spec..

anyway - this problem is actually a 3 pointed problem because the speed sensor feeds the ECU, dash and EPS.. and to top it all - the Vcc of the speed sensor is 4.5 volts - every other car on planet earth uses 12v -- go figure - and the cherry on the cake comes to be when you have to recalibrate the EPS - aarrrgh
