    Default Honda Accord Inspire 1994

    Hello friends!

This is my first thread. Apologies for any mistakes...

I am planning to get this car. It has a stock 5 cylinder in line 2 liter gasoline engine (rear wheel drive). The exterior, interior, suspension etc are immaculate; however, the engine is totally blown (owner says 4 anna out of 16 anna, but i think it is worse) have caught fire once too while fondling with the CNG etc.

I need guidelines on what engines can be swapped (I am wondering 2JZ?), how much would it cost and whether it is advisable. I have no experience of modifications, but I am a great enthusiast and have some basic understanding.

    Thanks thepd,

Isn't 2jZ rear wheel? Getting it for a good bargain. Will try to post more pics if I get some. I still do not own it so it is not appropriate though...

bro! Its not a rear wheel car. Its a front wheel car with engine placed longitudely like a rear wheel car. Unfortunately , with this car u dont have any option for engine swap. the only thing u can do with it is to get a kabli engine for it or get the parts to overhaul its current engine , which is also going to be very tough as parts are not easily available here.

    Dear Nomi,

Having a look at your profile, it is revealed that you own one of these hence I cannot challenge what you have said but it broke my heart
I guess I should let it go then, as the current engine hardly keeps the car idling, let alone driving the car. Thanks for your valuable and timely input anyways...

exactly WHICH Accord inspire made by Honda is Rear wheel - the engine in this car (G20A 2.0 5Cyl) sits like a RWD engine but infact it is FWD - the tranmission sits under and aside the engine with its drive axles seeming to exit from the sump.

So please do not dream of putting a 2JZ in it, you cannot even stick any sort of FWD Engine in this car without major cutting and welding. Let alone a full RWD.

Its an OBD0 car - and has its ECU under the passenger floor mat like the old Integra that flashes out codes to you, sort out the electrical gremlins by working with the error codes, there are some codes that are always tied with others like the traction control etc, but they are repairable for sure, I repaired such a car that was bought standing at a Tariq Road showroom as a complete basket case.

The usual problems associated with this car are failure of the engine position sensor (inside the distributor) and failure of the injector resistors. The headgasket can also fail easily if you dont purge air from the system as the engine is long and sits a little further from the radiator compared to a regular FWD

Not a good idea to swap engine in this car. Better to stick with it's original engine if u own this car otherwise stay away from it and get some chaser or mark II for 2jz.

Sir you can easily use the ZC 1.6L engine of Concerto, D15B carby from 5G Ferio Civic or even the A16A1 EDM engine of Accord, whichever suits your pocket in the DA series 1st Gen Integra.

All other thing can be also restored.

The most tricky thing is to make the popup headlamps work.

    Sir Congratulations.

    The Super Accord.

I do not think that anything other then 105 PS F18A carby is available at kabar market to fit easily in that engine bay.

Finding the engine parts of G20 for overhaul are next to impossible.

The G20A shares many parts with other Honda engines - like the B and F series - except of course parts like the headgasket etc. For specialty parts DXB is a good source for this car.

    About the Integra
as mentioned by 959, the integra is basically a Honda Civic with a different body, you can find many engines that can fit in there, The original D15 carby engine from the 1995 civic will fit, it accepts CNG nicely and parts are available nearly everywhere

Sir it has double woshbone all around called "double Kenchi" buy local mechanics as they are a nightmare compare to struts available on most local cars.

3G Accords onwards and 4G-6G Civics were using the same double wishbone front and rear with different stabilizer bars and tunings.

Accord afterwards gained a multilink which is basically the wishbone with 5 link rear control.

Suspension parts are widely available from kabli, Chinese to genuine according to your budget.

the older integra does not use double wishbones - its got the torsion rod suspension setup of the 84 civic (if you look under the car there are no springs in the front)

The first Integra with dual wishbones similar to the 86-89 accord, 88-2000 civic came out in 1990, the car which had extra long headlamps

    late answer

in this car engine series is G20A
if you want to change the engine you will also change the transmission because you can not use individually engine or transmission.
    Honda Accord Inspire 1994 - Honda20Acura20TL20UA1 UA228229

if you see above pic differential connect with engine and transmission will connect with differential that's why engine and transmission cannot use individually
