    Default engine swap for 87 accord??

    can anyone plzz recommend best engine swap for 87 accord??? it should be economical, and powerfull as well... current orginal one is A16... 1600cc... but its very old now so i want to to swap it with sm other one... kindly give me best suggestions...

    you want 1.6 or bigger than 1.6 since u have accord 87 its a heavy body car so in my opinion you should get either 1.6 or 1.8 take the b series engine

    yaar b16 sports engine hai... wo cng k liye nai hai... i want economy too... aur fitting b thik ho aisa batao... mtlb zeyada modifications na hon wrna car ka balance nai rehta... mention budget also in which i can get that engine... b16 is expensive and not suitable swap...

    Sir the best engine for 3G Accord is the EDM A20A4 engine.

    The A18A JDM is also very good, B Series engines for Accord are really expensive, rear and hard to swap.

    Once seen a B20 EDM engine 139 PS for 80K, there is another B20 JDM one which is supposed to output more than 160PS.

    yaar may aik bataon B16 ko sports engine us waqt keh saktay ho tum jab wo civic ya hatch back car may dala hua ho tumhare garee bari hai body heavy hai meray khayal say B16 set hai tumhray liye aur budget k hisab say B16 tum ko paray with mounting and everything around 160000 ka

    ya phir tum ZC lay lo gas pay chala lo np chalay ga ZC gas pay b waisay tou B16 b chalay ga laykin ZC vtec nahe hai and 1800 cc hai wo gas mast chalay ga and wo tou sasta b paray ga something like 100000 may ho jaye ga kam mounting shunting sab kuch nd economical bhi rahay ga ZC check karlo ..............

    yaar i know k b16 thik nai hai meri accord k liye... kafi mods hon gi us k baad koi pata nai k gari ka balance out ho jaye... aur ye bht zeyada expensive hai... aur mere khyal se tou aap rate b bht zeyada bata rhe ho... i thik 80K tk ka mil jata hai b16...

    thnx a ton for your concern bro... jo a18 aap recommend kr rhe ho wo b tou 23 yrs old engine he hai na... isi accord ka... tou wo kaise sai ho skta hai??? aur budget batao saare kaam ka aap k recommended engine k sath... fuel consumption b btana... filhaal tou mjhe a16 he bara tng kr rha hai... gives only 90 kms max in full cylinder... 1 litre mein max 5 or 6 km krta hai... pik waghaira aur speed blkl he koi nai hai...

    The ZC DOHC is NOT an 1800cc engine. Its a 1.6 ... I know ... my car had one from factory. Its VERY rare ... and by all means useless to swap in. One I found engine only .... just 20k ... not 1 lakh for gods sake!

    The B16A by all regards is a sports/performance engine. High revving ... little low end torque ... aggressive cam timings compared to a B18A or B20 (both non vtecs less revving torqueir engines)

    You can rebuild your engine provided there is no wear and tear in the crank (mechanic language kay mutabiq no main beegin ki awaz). If there is, its better to buy a new assembly. If there isnt ... a rebuild should be good engouh

    For the swap find a B18 NON-VTEC if you are looking for a good setup. That thing is torquey. A fresh D15B wont be bad as well ... even though the car is big. I know a D15B VTEC costs around 45 to 65k depending on whats available with it. You may be able to find a D16Z6/Y8 as well for around the same price, though its rarer. Cant be sure of the B18 or B20 Non-vtecs ... but they are cheaper being non-VTECs.

    Keep around 20-30k for labour + wiring + extra stuff like new seals and flushing oil wagaira you SHOULD put in for a swap.

    this model accord did come with a B series, It was the forward canted B20A engine (160ps) - with the PH4 parts code and PH4 ECU. (came in black and gold valve covers)

    There were 2 engines in shershah junk - at Tariq Ejazs shop, I bought the complete one. The other one had no transmission and a broken valve cover and no ECU, I also had the manual PH4 ECU for it lying somewhere in my parts bin.

    I have also put an F20A (1990 Accord Si DOHC engine) parts code PT2 - with manual transmission in this model accord It requires massive surgery of the body to fit, custom exhaust headers as the original manifold wont clear the radiator. Its the same as putting an H22 in it, as it is a destroked version of the F22 with no Vtec but with dual cams.

    There is also a twin carb forward canted B18 engine that came original in your accord, there were some lying around in the shershah junkyard, but were cut up for scrap. Your best would be to put a D16 in it complete with ECU, wire it up and put CNG - OR if your engine is in average condition, repair it so its back to original specs - The A series Honda engines are like Mercedes Benz engines - they dont die.

    SIr the only good engine is that is bolt on swap and do not waste your time and money on workshops after the swap.

    Aap ki gari bhi 23 years old hai tu engine mein kiya masla hai.

    Just kidding, you can not state an engine old that has an aluminum block and 12V with 9:3 compression ratio.

    I have the same Accord, still with me, the A16 is a square engine, can touch 190 km/hr, has more torque than a 1.3L iVteC engine at nearly half the RPM and I have measured 11.5 km/l two way average with family and luggage on a trip to Hyderabad, you can even drive the car in 3rd gear from stand still.

    The only difference is that my engine only has 97K on the meter.

    @Xulfiqar bhai has given you the best suggestion, rebuilt the engine.

    I can assure you that apart from him, there are not many people how can even think to fit the D series, F series or B series (Civic one with short stroke) engine, I have tried it once on a friend's car and even I have the 400 pages working manual of the car, it was not proved to be successful.

    Check the compression test, clean and service the jets carb, adjust valve clearance when the engine is cold, change the spark plugs to Denso W20EXR U series, check/replace the spark plugs wires and do the Big 3 for grounds, service the distributor and ignition and adjust the timings to +- 20BTDC, I will confirm that after reading the owner's manual.

    Also check the clutch and pressure plate for proper transfer of power to ground.

    You can also upgrade to the bigger twin barrel or electronic carb from weber or Samurai, if you can find one in the Junk.

    Afterwards, can also get a sports flywheel.

    Lastly you can change the rings and pistons for 10-19K depending on quality and your engine will be as good as new.

    Replacing the engine will lessen your car's value by 50K Rs straight and you also have to update your excise registration.

    Nothing runs better and trouble free on CNG than this engine, that I can assure you.
